The work comes from the About Her series, which Gierzyńska has been working on for several decades and in which she focuses on women`s emotional experiences. Her photographs have an air of mystery. Gierzyńska uses a photographic camera to capture motion, actions and what is understated. Her works are permeated with physical passing and the passing of emotions. Gierzyńska photographs herself, her daughter Pola and women she meets on foreign travels. The series has been widely exhibited and published.
