Since his arrival in Poland in the 1970s, the artist has been working on a body of documentary works about the country. He has captured both momentous events in the history of Poland and everyday life. This photograph was made in the summer of 1982, when Niedenthal was working on a photo story about Wrocław for the German GEO monthly. It shows a woman in a balcony of one of the iconic tower blocks in Wrocław`s "Manhattan".
