Henryk Hermanowicz's master and teacher was the doyen of the Polish photography, Jan Bulhak. Born in Vilnus, he debuted on The Fifth International Artistic Photography Salon in 1931. His artworks has been published by both Polish and foreing magazines. Since 1937, he had been working in Krzemieniec, collaborating with Stanislaw Sheybal. During that time, he published the book 'Beautiful Home Town of Juliusz Slowacki'. In 1945, Hermanowicz relocated to Krakow. The city inspired him to create one of the most beautiful photo series of Krakow's cityscapes titled 'Krakow - The Four Seasons'. It revealed his pictorial artistry and reportage-like inquisitiveness. Hermanowicz is considered one of the most prominent photographers of his genre.
