Slawomir Rumiak, a photographer from Czechowice-Dziedzice, graduated from a branch of Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, in 1999. He is very well known in Japan and less known in Poland. He has been a guest lecturer in Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, Akademie voor Beeldende Kunst in Enschede, and - invited by the renown Japanese photographer Eikoh Hosoe - in the Institute of Polytechnics in Tokyo. In 2003, he published a photograph album titled 'Ksiazka milosna' (English: 'Love Book') which was distinguished in the '246 Loaded Photography Books: The Edge of Photography' anthology published in Tokyo, in 2005.
