Photographer, author of press articles, critic and theoretician of photography, initiator of the Polish landscape photographers` movement, curator of major Polish landscape exhibitions, editor and co-author of photographic albums: Masters of Polish Landscape Photography (2000) and Kielce Landscape School (2002). Creator, organiser and animator of the artistic movement known as the Kielce School of Landscape. He earned his diploma in civil engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology. Member of ZPAF since 1964, honorary member of ZPAF since 1982, honorary president of the Świętokrzyskie Branch of ZPAF. Author of over 250 individual exhibitions. He has shown his work at more than 600 national and international exhibitions. Winner of numerous medals, awards and diplomas. He has published several solo albums, including: Struktury (1982), Między Wisłą a Pilicą (2001) and Świetokrzyskie (2004). Numerous publications in world journals and yearbooks: Photography Year Book, Photographis, Fotojahrbuch International, FIAP Yearbook. Author of over 600 texts, critical reviews and exhibition catalogue texts. In 2004, an anthology of his 1975-2004 texts was published under the title Czas krajobrazu (Landscape Time). Works in private and museum collections worldwide.

To take this photograph, the artist constructed a special tripod mount, thanks to which the camera may be moved around its optical axis. The shutter speed was approx. 1/2 sec., with the camera rotating. It is the only work by Pierściński produced by means of the device.
