The photograph was taken in Warsaw in the kitchen of Urszula Czartoryska (1934-1998), a distinguished Polish art critic and theorist. Urszula Czartoryska was the author of the seminal and pioneering publication Przygody plastyczne fotografii (Artistic Adventures of Photography) (1965). She was the curator of the Photographic Department of the Museum of Art in Łódź.
