The photograph comes from an open-ended untitled series consisting of mono- chromatic minimalist photographs of plants, fruits, still lifes and landscapes, among which seascapes come to the fore. The works have been copied in a darkroom by the artist himself. By using a specific process and materials, Żak obtains images enriched with elements that do not existent in the actual scene.
The work has been widely shown, e.g. at the exhibition Evening Waves and Other Photographs, Refleksy Gallery, Warsaw (2010).
