Jerzy Neugenbauer met Jerzy Kosiński in 1954 and inspired him to take up photography. Initially, their relationship resembled that of a master and disciple, but with time, it evolved into a collaboration between equal partners. This is what Jerzy Neugebauer said about Kosiński: "We started working together, and after a year or so of intensive darkroom work, often going on for 24 hours without a break, Kosiński made enormous progress (...). Jurek was the mastermind and initiator of our work, showing energy I could not keep pace with and coming up with hundreds of ideas."
