The work comes from the award-winning series Swell - a story about unbearable parting and loneliness. The photographer used to travel to the Baltic coast on photographic assignments about the sea. However, after splitting up with his girlfriend, who accompanied him on those trips, Sarełło was no longer able to follow the pre-fixed work schedule. Instead, he started to use his photography to tell a personal story.
The series has been widely exhibited worldwide and awarded, including: Prix Photo La Quatrieme Image (2014), Center Santa Fe Choice Awards (2014), Celeste Prize (2014), shortlist of the Grand Prix Fotofestiwal in Łódź (2015).
The awards for the Swell book (in addition to those mentioned above) include: International Photography Awards, Book category (2013), Moscow International Foto Awards (2014), Art Books Wanted International Award (2014). The book is attached to the featured photograph as a bonus item.
