Gardulski has worked on his Self-Portrait series since the early 1980s. Sometimes, he portrays himself with his partner, usually in the interiors of his home, often surrounded by personal things, plants. The photograph presented here, which was made on 4 x 5 Polaroid Type 55 film, dates to the time when Gardulski was working for The International Polaroid Collection, which owns one copy of this photograph. Other prints are owned by the National Museum in Wrocław and private collectors.
