The work comes from a set of works in which Deskur explores family-related topics.
In her installation consisting of a series of photographs, she portrays a group of persons connected by fictitious genealogy. Deskur does not consider blood ties to be sufficient to define a ‘family.’ She stresses the importance of the family being a group of persons ‘related’ emotionally. The sequences in which the protagonists are presented in everyday situations make up a story about fundamental interpersonal relations.
The series was exhibited in: Arsenał Gallery, Białystok (1999); Bunkier Sztuki, Cracow (2000); Platán Galéria, Budapest (2001); CCA Łaźnia, Gdańsk (2002).
