The luxograph, made without the use of a photographic camera, shows drops of liquid spilled over a glass plate in the enlarger, copied with side lighting. The uniqueness of the technique lies in the fact that the enlarger was `adjusted` in such a way as to bring out the drops with lights and shadows which, as Pierściński himself observes, "created a unique spatial archipelago of islands".
