gelatin silver print, 41.5 × 33 cm (45.5 × 37 cm),
signed, dated and described on the reverse
edition: 1/5 + 2 a.p.
This photograph was taken shortly after Piotrowska completed Frowst, which is her most recognisable series to date. The artist revisits the issue of human relationships, this time in the context of investigating the phenomenon of self-defence and using one’s own body as a weapon. She looks at body language and the way instructions in self-defence manuals are formulated.
