Performance plays a central role in Paweł Kwiek`s art, and photography is the last stage of the creative process. This set of photographs is an example of what Kwiek refers to as "sacral avant-garde art". Since his mystical religious experience in 1980, religion and Christianity have become a central focus of his work. Kwiek seeks the right symbolism and gesture, using the simplest forms, often - as here - geometrical abstractions.
Other works from the series are part of the Repository of the Arton Foundation and are dated 1986.
