Being an operator of the Polish Film Chronicle, Szczeciński focused on film rather than photography. Nevertheless his still pictures, which depict the post-war Warsaw - both its architecture and everyday life - make a unique document of the period. Even though not born in Warsaw, the photojournalist would say: "you only have one mother and one Warsaw".
