Many photographs made in the 1950s showed people at work. They presented e.g. large industrial plants or construction sites. One of his photographs in a photo essay produced for Świat in 1961, which presented workers in a construction site, bore the following caption: "For 17 years now, we have watched them grow, the scaffoldings of the great edifice named the Polish People`s Republic".
