The work is an effect of Poddębski’s numerous trips across Poland, the photographic documentation of which was used to illustrate the first travel guides published in the interwar Poland. The picture, which shows a couple on the road from Żabie to Worochta, was made amidst the scenery of the Hutsul Land - a region in western Ukraine, which was then part of Poland.
The photograph has been widely reproduced.
