The noble technique of "duplicate", using which this work was made, also goes by the name bromide graphics. The starting material is a black & white print, which is retouched in pencil both on the front and reverse sides. The resultant print is contact-printed on paper. Following this, the paper negative obtained undergoes a similar process. Once the operation is repeated several times, the tonality of the image changes, unnecessary details are removed, and new highlight areas created in the image.
