Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, gaining his diploma in 1971 under Prof. Krystyna Lada-Studnicka. He lectured at his alma mater during the years 1972-85. In 1981 and 1983, he worked at the Stedelijk museum in Amsterdam as part of a scholarship, and in the years 1985-86, he traveled to Atelierhaus for a study visit. He spent 1990-91 at the Musée d’Art Contemporain in Nîmes. He received the Jan Cybis award in 1999 for his creative achievements. His works have been put on display many times in Poland and abroad, and they have been included in prestigious international art exhibitions: Painting Festival in Cagnes-sur-Mer (1982, 1984), Biennale in Sao Paulo (1987, 1994) and Documenta in Kassel (1992). His works can be found in the collections of the National Museum (Lodz, Krakow, Poznan, Warsaw, Wroclaw) and Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam). He works with the Foksal Gallery in Warsaw, Wetering Galerie in Amsterdam, and Galerie Hansa Strelow in Düsseldorf.
