As Ryszard Bobrowski wrote in the catalogue of A. Zygmuntowicz exhibition in the Hybrydy gallery, "When photographing, Zygmuntowicz treats models as objects rather than individuals. They are nameless, ill-treated, photographed in pieces, often with missing parts of their torsos or with no faces. The models do not show themselves, but rather the artist`s imagination, with all its associations and visual representations. The photographs, which are chaotic and somewhat undesirable, are repulsive rather than appealing. However, on a closer look, it turns out that the surrealist imagination provokes the viewer to ask questions and search for sense in the re-created reality. "
The numerous exhibitions where the photograph was shown include: The Hurt and Beautiful, the Scared and Beautiful, Gallery of the Photographic Society in Poznań (1986); Nude, Hybrydy gallery, Warsaw (1986); The Hurt and Beautiful, Gallery of the Photographic Society in Tarnów (1986), MDK Art Gallery in Iława (1987) and at group shows, including Polish Photography of the 1980s Photographers and Tendencies, Muzeum Okręgowe, Biała Podlaska (1989).
