Gadzalski photographed nature, industry, sport, landscape and human tragedy from his early childhood and portrayed children and the elderly. Member of the Green Group, founded by Witold Dederko, and member of ZPAF from 1963. His favourite topics included horses, which gradually became his greatest passion and professional success. His `horse portraits` are unique for their distinctive mood and forcefulness. He used a range of photographic techniques, including the antique gum bichromate process. Gadzalski received the silver and gold Crosses of Merit and silver and gold FIAP medals (1968, 1976). Individual exhibitions in Poland and abroad, numerous awards and distinctions, including: Melbourne, Brussels, Barcelona, Ottawa, Sao Paulo, Doncaster, Nicosia, London, Kielce, Cracow, New York and Zachęta in Warsaw. The photograph was made using a method characteristic of the artist`s work at the time. The graphic-like effect was achieved by the use of high-contrast materials and the production of multiple dupe negatives.
