The Land of Chęcin comes from an extensive series entitled Portrait of the Kielce Land, which Pierściński has continued to produce since 1955. The work premièred during the international exhibition entitled 40 Years of Isohelia in the National Museum in Wrocław (1972). At the exhibition, it earned Pierściński a bronze medal as one of the 3 works shown there. Ever since, The Land of Chęcin has been widely exhibited and published in Poland and abroad. The idea of rhythmically repeated, identical features of landscape was later developed by Pierściński in his Multiplications series (1984-1986).
