This photograph is an example of the creative experiments Pierściński undertook in 1955-1962. The artist was working at the time on his own photographic project documenting landscapes. Photomontage was one of the photographic techniques he explored. The technical études - as he himself calls them - were an important element that complemented and enriched his major documentary project - Portrait of the Kielce Land.
This photograph was presented at the first exhibition in which Pierściński took part - Portrait of the Kielce Land, at the salon of the Amateur Federations of Polish Photographic Societies, Warsaw (1962). It was also reproduced on the cover of the exhibition catalogue. Other shows where the photograph was featured include: Paweł Pierściński retrospective exhibitions: Galeria BWA, Kielce (1981, 1985); Museum of the History of Photography, Cracow (2005).
