The photograph presents the Suwałki area, which was the artist`s favourite region. Sumiński said that the sky there is clearer than anywhere else. He described the picture of the sky in the region as having the qualities of a classical, romantic composition. Sumiński strengthened the light and shadow effects in his works by using a very dark orange filter.
