The photograph presented here dates back to the earliest period of Pierściński’s work, when he was exploring the possibilities offered by darkroom techniques, including izohelia - an image posterisation method. The primitive conditions Pierściński was working in made him modify the procedure slightly compared to the classic one described in literature. He was successful though, as is evidenced by the awards he has won, including a silver medal for one of his izohelia images shown at the 35 Years of izohelia group show in Wrocław (1968).
Exhibitions: 30 Years of izohelia, Wrocław (1962); Lublin (1964); London (1965); 17th Salon Fotografico Balneario de Panticosa, Saragossa, Spain (1963).
