Horowitz is a pioneer of digital photographic manipulation. His unique style lies in illusory visions created by various objects edited digitally to create fantastical and occasionally paradoxical juxtapositions. He studied at the Painting Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. After immigrating to the USA in 1959, Horowitz started studying at the Pratt Institute in New York. He cooperated with the Grey Advertising Agency until 1969, when he opened his own studio. Horowitz co-founded the American APA. Professionally, his primary focus is on editorial and advertising photography. In the 1970s, he experimented with a wide-angle lens and false perspective, and in the next decade, with digital image manipulation. The works produced in the 1990s show the artist`s fascination with how one form transforms into another. His works have been exhibited at a number of group and individual shows.
