The work comes from the Special Signs series, which consists of 25 photographs showing skin fragments with tattoos from the archives of the Forensic Medicine Institutes in Cracow and Wrocław. The tattoos were being removed from the bodies of prisoners, homeless persons and unknown persons from the late 19th century.
