Documentary photographer. Her interests include post-communist societies in their attempt to follow Western patterns and pop culture aspects of transformation. She earned her master`s diploma in history of art at the Jagiellonian University and learned photography at ZPAF training (1999-2000) and Laboratory of Journalism workshops. Co-founder of the Sputnik Photos International Association of Photojournalists. She has published in the leading Polish magazines Polityka, Rzeczpospolita, Przekrój. Finalist of the Hasselblad Masters Award (twice), prize-winner in press photography competitions (including Newsreportaż 2009) and in Pictures of the Year International 2011. Recipient of the Visegrad Fund Scholarship (2007). She has published the American Dream photo book, which depicts cultural transformation in the countries of East-Central Europe. Numerous solo and group shows, including Prague Biennial (2009), Noorderlicht Festival (2008 and 2009) and Kaunas Photo Festival (2009).

The photo comes from a set of portraits of Femen activists from Kiev. It received a prize at the 2012 Grand Press Photo competition (portrait category) and Award of Excellence at 69 Pictures of the Year International (2012).
