Artist and photographer. Graduate of the Institute for Artistic Upbringing at the Maria Curie Sklodowska University in Lublin, Poland. She was awarded a diploma in 1983. From 1984 she works at her alma mater, and now she is the director of the Faculaty of Photography and Visual Knowledge. Since 2011 she is a professor. She has 36 individual expositions and 78 collective expositions under her belt. Irena Nawrot creates in the space of intermedia photography. She uses the technique of processing the black and white blow-ups with multiple colorization. In her photographic stagings, she treats her own experience of human corporeality as a message of a more universal message, relating to transitoriness, the fluxation of time, sometimes in the contect of a personal experience. Lately, for some years, she has been using photographies, which are copied and sewed into large patchworks. She lives and works in Lublin.
