Kosiński was not satisfied with the condition of the Polish photography he came across in Polish journals in the 1950s, which made him reach for a photographic camera. In an interview for the Polish Radio (1994), he explained that his aim was to "create a type of expression in which the photo elements would be equally important to graphical ones". He refers to his picture of the stadium as a typically graphical photograph. When comparing his photographic productions to his literature, he clearly emphasised the distance to the topics he worked on. Kosiński would refer to himself as a non-committed artist, thus leaving it for the audience - "the readers of his photographs" - to interpret and evaluate his work. He wanted to show the subject matter as objectively as possible.
Exhibitions: Internationale Fotoausstellung, Mönchengladbach, Germany (1957); 9th Singapore Salon (1958).
Another print of this photograph is owned by the National Museum in Warsaw.
