Rydet was keen on making portraits of young people, which are among his most appreciable works. The artist dedicated a great deal of time and effort to youth work, initiating and organising a number of youth clubs at schools and in child recovery centres in the town of Rabka, where he lived and worked. Being a major health resort, Rabka provided treatment and recreation to children from all over Poland.
