Tadeusz Wanski became interested in photography in 1922 and just one year later won the bronze medal during the Chiaroscuro (Polish: Swiatlocien) exhibition in Poznan. Since 1926, he was a member of the Poznan Association of Photography Lovers, of which he became the president in 1930. Since 1947, he was a member of the Polish Photography Association in Warsaw and in Gdansk, and in 1949 he became a member of the Association of Polish Art Photographers. Before World War II, he participated in the activity of the community of Poznan photographers. Wanski's photographs, especially landscapes, are characterized by a mysterious atmosphere; the author uses such effects as mist to make the images appear unreal, reminiscent of fairy tales. Wanski is a representative of pictorialism. He has participated in many national and international exhibitions.
