Springer produced the Ill-Born series of photographs, which depicts post-war modernist architecture in Poland, for his book Ill-Born. Polish Post-War Modernist Architecture.
The Przyczółek Grochowski housing estate, which lies in Warsaw`s Gocław District, is the realisation of a utopian vision of Zofia and Oskar Hansen. From the start, Przyczółek Grochowski has provoked controversies and heated discussions among architectural critics and the residents themselves. The architecture, which was supposed to bring people together, often makes them drift apart, pushing them into isolation. It is equally imperfect in building social ties as the stairs railing in the devastated recreational area adjacent to the housing estate.
Exhibitions: outdoor exhibition organised by Czytelnia Sztuki, Gliwice (2012); 2piR Gallery, Poznań (2013).
