The Promised Land is a story about Australian landscape, about open spaces and man-made monuments, such as houses, cabins, utility poles, railway tracks. As the artist himself points, "they are vulnerable and ephemeral monuments, and one more proof of human arrogance vis-a-vis the power of nature."
Sikora recorded his impressions that make up the series on his 18,000-km-long trip across the Promised Land.
Exhibitions: Promised Land, Skulpture Hus, Stockholm, Sweden (2004); Promised Land, Fabryka Trzciny, Warsaw (2004).
