An original black-and-white print of the original ‘Poisoned Well’ collage created in 1967. This copy was specially prepared for publishing in Jerzy Lewczynski's ‘Anthology of Polish photography’. Mirror image of the original. The original copy is found among the collections of the Photography History Museum in Krakow.
Rozycki’s ‘Poisoned Well’ collage (1967) is equally intriguing and symbolic as Jacek Malczewski’s paintings from 1906 of the same title. In an empty field, we see a girl sitting near the pulley of a well bearing the engraved inscription ‘Water unfit for drinking’. This photo background is filled in by figures of models advertising striking garments cut out from color magazines. The realism of the photographic presentation does not at all soften the sense of unease and alienation, similarly as the academic solidity of Malczewski's painting does not soften to unsettling tension accompanying its viewing’.

During the years 1961-66, he studied monument conservation and museology at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun. In 1963, he belonged to the ‘RYTM’ photographic group. Starting from 1964, he was a member of the ‘ZERO-61’ Group, which also included Jerzy Wardak, Jozef Robakowski, Antoni Mikolajczyk and Wojeciech Brzuszewski. During the years 1969-1975, he studied at the Faculty of Directing at the National Film School in Lodz, where he later lectured. Member of the Film Workshop from 1970 to 1977. During the 70s and 80s, he worked with the Educational Film Production House in Lodz, where he made several dozen documentary films, including films awarded at many film festivals - ‘Age of Aquarius’, ‘Endless Long Roads, the watched and overheard Zofia Rydet A.D. 1989’, ‘Photographer of Polesie’. Andrzej Rozycki has been connected with the progressive and avant-garde community in Lodz for over 40 years.

Black and white print of the original collage 'poisoned well' produced in 1965. The print was especially made for the publication in 'Antologia fotografii polskiej' by Jerzy Lewczynski. The reversed reflection of the original. The original work is in the collection of the Museum of the History of Photography in Cracow.
