Schlabs produced his photographs by interfering with the light-sensitive material in a variety of ways, for example, by placing various objects or semi-transparent materials of various shapes on them. However, the effects of these actions are just afterimages of the objects, abstractions which were ultimately accommodated by the flat surface of the photographic paper.
Many of his photograms can be found in well-known collections in Poland and other countries, including Museum of Modern Art in New York.
