This photograph comes from a collection of works in which Hermanowicz, who had been using traditional photographic techniques for years, reached for more sophisticated means of expression, creating photomontages made of graphical elements and photography. Indulging in a surreal joke, the artist combined motifs found in Kraków`s squalid backyards, basements and warehouses with graphical elements depicting a basilisk, a stray ghost and old clothes pretending to be a spectre.
