Romer not only exhibited his works in Poland, but also sent many of them abroad. In the late 1920s, he took part in the International Photography Salons in Budapest, London, Dunkirk, and Paris. This photograph, printed using the gum bichromate technique, is likely to have been made during one of those trips. At the time, Romer was busy developing new photo printing techniques as an employee of the Książnica-Atlas Printing House.
