He studied Polish philology at the Jagiellonian University from 1958 to 1963. Since 1962, he has been photographing, travelling to many countries. He has been the member of the European Society of Pictorial Photographers with the headquarters in Brussels since 1991. He does portraits and landscapes, and since 1985 he takes photographs in the gum bichromate, which led to numerous exhibitions in Poland and in other countries, including ‘30 gums from the Remuh cemetery’ (Hadar Gallery, 1991), ‘Twenty photos from one negative in gum bichromate’ (the ZPAF Gallery in Krakow, 1992), ‘Pollesch in Atut GUM’ (The Gallery for the Photographic Club ‘ATUT’ in Konin, 1995), ‘Konrad K. Pollesch GUM’ (The ZPAF’s Small Gallery of Photography in Torun, 1995), ‘The Krakow’s photographs in the gum bichromate technique’, Lviv 2000, ‘Several portraits and works done in the gum bichromate technique’ (The ZPAF Gallery, Krakow 2003). The gum bichromate, a photographic technique invented in the end of the 19th century by the Frenchman, Robert Demachy, is one of the noble techniques using photosensitivity of chromate salts and its tanning properties they have on organic resin, in this case - Arabic gum. In 1987-1990 he documented the activities of Tadeusz Kantor’s CRICOT 2 theatre. The works by K. Pollesch are located in the archives of the International Center of Photography and in the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, Library of Congress in Washington, Musee d’Art et d’Histoire in Fribourg, Switzerland, the Modern Art Museum in Lodz, the National Museum in Wroclaw, the Jagiellonian University Museum and the Photography Museum in Krakow, as well as in numerous private collections in Poland and abroad.
