As Marek Grygiel points out in his text about Zastróżna’s NR3 series (Mała Galeria ZPAF-CSW, Warsaw, 2001), which includes this work, "[Zastróżna] builds tensions and deforms her photographs in such a manner as not to deprive them of their balance in composition terms and to retain the integrity of their style. What she manages to achieve results from her consistent use of the same style based predominantly on colour and the motif of a human body gesture. [...] Joanna Zastróżna brings to her photographic art a graphic sign and an understanding of the colour, and she does so like a painter - with unrestrained freedom, to quote Węgrzyn."
