This work, which shows the artist`s daughter Danusia, is an example of Hartwig`s formal experiments at the time. The photograph was published in Hartwig`s famous book Fotografika (Arkady, 1960, ed. 2. 1963) and was reproduced on its dust jacket. Hartwig fully controlled the creation of the book throughout the process. He took the photographs, worked out the layout and produced the graphic design. With the publication, he made himself known as a dedicated aesthete with an inclination towards a modern, often abstract and poster-like graphical form.
