Inter-media artist following the neo-avant-garde tradition, using photography and creating installations. ZPAF member since 1979. He made experimental films in the 1970s and video films in the 1980s. Since the 1980s, Rytka has been associated with the independent artistic milieus of Łódź, initially with Kultura Zrzuty group, then Wschodnia Gallery and FF Gallery. From the 1970s, he has created analytical works inspired by conceptualism, in which the visual attractiveness of photographed water contrasts with the examination of short moments in time. In the same period, he was interested in the universal problem of TV picture manipulation. Other important projects include his Continual Infinity exhibition (1983), which expressed the desire to compete with or even subjugate nature, which cannot be codified or conquered. In the late 1980s, Rytka started to build his installations. At the time of his collaboration with Kultura Zrzuty, he created humorous works for Tango and short films. Since the beginning of the 21st century, the artist has been exhibiting installations which are a recapitulation of his previous accomplishments, go beyond the limits of the medium, primarily photography, and examine the sense of perception. His works are in the collections of the National Museum in Wrocław, the Museum of Art in Łódź, the Museum of the History of Photography in Cracow, Studio Gallery in Warsaw.

The photograph comes from one of the artist`s most appreciable series. The Scheme of Disintegration, created in 1987-1989, refers to such notions as: time, water, stone. The artist has a special fondness for the work, as it reveals his earlier deliberations on nature and introduces the disintegration of matter. In composition terms, it is a direct reference to the earlier series: Continual Infinity and Impermanent Object. It shows a frame from Rytka`s conceptual film entitled Momentary Objects - Scheme of Disintegration.
