Momentary Objects, a universal series which Rytka continued to work on for a number of years, became central to his entire work. Photographs from his other series often invoke Momentary Objects.
The photograph featured here is one of his most interesting works, addressing the issue of time passing in a very evocative way. Rytka stubbornly strived to show moments that would be, in his opinion, best captured with a photographic camera. This work describes a state of evanescence, illustrating the artist`s point: "with time everything changes, some motifs exist only for a fleeting moment".
The photograph invokes such central themes of Rytka`s work as time, water and stone (sand). By the use of simple means, it represents Rytka`s perception of time and the ephemerality of occurrences.
