The American Girls series consists of portraits of girls playing with American Girl dolls, which were conceived as an alternative for Barbie and were designed to resemble a nine-year-old girl`s body. The appearance of each doll can be altered to resemble the owner, but, in fact, all the dolls are almost identical. Coming with a rich set of miniature accessories, the dolls are probably the most luxurious toys invented to date.
