Krzysztof Gieraltowski graduated from Medical Academy in Gdansk (1958) and Warsaw (1960), and The Leon Shiller National Higher School of Film and Theatre in Lodz (1964). His first photographies were created in 1961 and exhibited two years later. Gieraltowski worked as a fashion and advertising photographer, simultanouesly authoring reportage photo series documenting huge industrial plants and construction works. Between 1967 and 1973, he was a permanent co-worker of the monthy 'You and Me', 1971 and 1972 the weekly 'Perspectives', 1977 and 1978 the weekly 'Together', 1978 and 1981 the weekly 'ECT'. He was a member of the Art Council of the quarterly '6x9 Photography' (1991-1993). For four years (1994-1998) he collaborated with the monthy 'Your Style'. Since 1996, Gieraltowski had his own gallery, working on both Polish and foreign advertising campaigns.
