Sociological Record is considered to be Zofia Rydet`s key artistic achievement, one on which she worked from 1978 until the end of her life. She produced several thousand negatives in more than ten regions across Poland and other locations, such as Douchy in France and New York City. As Zofia Rydet herself explained, the series was to record a changing reality, one that ceases to exist; it was to document the truth about modern man and human existence.
The cycle has been shown at many individual and group exhibitions. Currently, Sociological Record is being catalogued by the Zofia Rydet Foundation in partnership with Fundacja Sztuk Wizualnych, Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw and Czytelnia Sztuki in Gliwice.
