This triptych was made during an advertising photography symposium in Czerniejewo near Poznań in March 1985. The event, which brought together of a number of distinguished Polish artists, was organised by the Wielkopolska Branch of ZPAF. After hours-long discussions, the notion of `pure` or `art photography` was defined as photography that is not profit-oriented or `dirty`, like e.g. commercial photography. As Sawicki remembers, both notions were made by Stefan Wojnecki and Jerzy Lewczyński, whose figure can be seen in the photographs. They resemble Lewczyński`s later self-portraits.
