The Interpenetrations series originated in the 1960s and 1970s and is among the artist`s most appreciable works. It was presented at the famous Subjective Photography exhibition in 1968. The works were made by what is referred to as the photographic sandwich technique, which involves making a print from two negatives, one placed on top of another.
The work has been widely exhibited and reproduced. The National Museum in Wrocław owns another print of the photograph, which was reproduced in the Museum`s catalogue of its photographic collection entitled City Landscape with a Nude (2007).
