Piasecki’s heliographs are among his best known artworks. In the late 1950s, he managed to develop his own original and recognisable variation of the technique. Depending on the process used, he produced soft, fluid forms, bringing to mind the simplest life-forms one can only see under a microscope or more geometrical, hard forms. Frequently, the artist would make his own frames, using modest shapes and materials, although chosen with great care.
