The title of the series was inspired by Susan Sontag`s writings. In her book On Photography she associates the heroism of vision with the invention of photography. According to the American essayist, the heroism allows the viewer to read images which represent appearances of reality as reality. As Pacholski himself adds: "Of all the senses - basically there are five of them - we receive the highest amount of sensations through the sense of sight. However, as it turns out, the sense is the easiest to be tricked and even manipulated."
The series was exhibited in Moje Archiwum Gallery, Koszalin (1994); Mała Galeria Fotografiki, Toruń (1995); Mała Galeria GTF, Gorzów Wielkopolski (2009); Scena Gallery, Koszalin (2009); Obserwacja Gallery, Warsaw (2013).
